In this eight-month graduate certificate program, you will receive a combination of academic knowledge and hands-on training.
With a focus on developing advanced skills, you will be prepared for the challenges and rewards that come with investigations and law enforcement.
After successfully completing the first semester, you can apply for a training completion number.
It will make you eligible to be tested, at your own expense, for the provincially regulated license to be a private investigator.
Additionally, completing the Firearms Safety course at Seneca College will make you eligible to apply for a Canadian Firearms License.

As an international student, you have the option of learning English at Seneca's English Language Institute (ELI) before starting your professional program.
There are eight (8) levels in the ELI that are seven (7) weeks in length each. There are six (6) start dates per year: January, March, May, July, September and November.
If you apply to a professional program and you do not meet Seneca’s English requirements, you may receive an Offer of Admission to your program that is conditional upon completion of the English Language Institute.
The college will use your English test score to place you at the most appropriate ELI level. If you do not have an English score, you will take a placement test when you arrive on campus.

After finishing Level 8, You will receive a Certificate of Standing from the ELI and you will be automatically registered in your program at Seneca. You will not have to take another English test.
