Humber’s Bachelor of Film and Media Production degree program combines theory and practice with the goal of preparing you for a rewarding career in media. 

You will learn a variety of screenwriting and storytelling techniques, and how to combine them into compelling visual narratives. 

You will be taught by professors highly experienced in the film industry, and benefit from their insights and experiences.

This rigorous program covers a broad range of practical and academic topics such as direction, picture and sound editing, cinematography, videography, and post-production. 

You will study both fiction and non-fiction filmmaking. 

A film and media theory component is combined with courses such as entertainment law and media entrepreneurship, preparing graduates for their careers in film. 

A capstone project in your final year will allow you to apply your skills and demonstrate your creative vision.

Work Placement

Students will participate in a mandatory work placement which takes place in the summer semester between Years 3 and 4.

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
  • Grade 12 English (ENG4U or equivalent) minimum 65 per cent
  • Five Grade 12 U or M courses in addition to those listed above
  • Overall minimum grade point average (GPA) is 65 per cent

India:

• All India Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary School Certificate
• Year 12 State Board Exams
• With a minimum grade of 70 or above in required program subjects.
• Transcripts for any post-secondary courses or programs completed

China:

• The National Senior High School Examination with a minimum grade of 70% or B in relevant subjects (School Leaving Certificate).
• Graduation Certificate awarded by senior (upper) middle school; may be academic or vocationally oriented with a minimum of B or 70% in relevant subjects.
• Matriculation Examination with a minimum mark of 525.
• Transcripts for any post-secondary courses or programs completed

Iran:

• Diplom-Metevaseth/National High School Diploma with a minimum grade of 14 in required program subjects
