Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Program Highlights:

  • The four-year program leads to an Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Students have clinical hours beginning in the first year
  • A minimum intake of six seats each year is designated for First Nations, Metis, or Inuit students

Also available:  Nurse Practitioner Graduate Diploma, must be in practice as an RN for at least two years before applying.

Nursing is a knowledge-based profession that includes an exciting blend of science, mathematics, psychology, anthropology, organizational management, and sociology, to name a few.

The LU School of Nursing (LUSN) faculty members have a wide variety of nursing experience and expertise. The School boasts a state-of-the-art clinical learning laboratory and a world-class library facility

Sudbury is the medical referral centre for Northeastern Ontario. 

The resulting comprehensive healthcare system allows for various specialized learning opportunities for nursing students. 

Students are part of the larger university community and can benefit from the expertise of many other disciplines such as midwifery, human kinetics, social work, and medicine.

In addition, students may wish to enhance their learning by assisting with research or participating in professional nursing organizations

Laurentian University’s School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) in both French and English

LUSN has responded to changes in the nursing profession and healthcare by offering a Post-RN program, web-based courses, Nurse Practitioner Certification, and a MSCN degree

The Laurentian BScN degree program is also offered in English at Cambrian College, Northern College, Sault College, and St. Lawrence College.

Language pathway (conditional offer) is available

Academically admissible applicants who do not present appropriate English Proficiency Requirements will be automatically offered a conditional offer of admission based on completion of the English for Academic Preparation (EAP) program at Laurentian University’s Language Institute.

Program tuition fees: 

CAD 4950$ / per term

Length of Program:

2 terms (students will be placed in EAP level 1 or 2 by Cambrian College); The length of EAP programs is 13 weeks for each level.

Which level of EAP you will study:

You must submit language test results that can automatically place you at a level within the EAP program. If you do not submit any test score, you will be placed at EAP level 1.

Applicants will be considered for admission provided they present one of the following certificates:

A State Higher Secondary Certificate awarded by a State Board of Higher Secondary Education or;
India and Delhi Senior School Certificate awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education or;
Indian School Certificate awarded by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations
